Raised in SoCal, Santiago has worked Los Angeles for over a decade, and specializes in providing the bespoke service clients should expect. Having a strong knowledge in advising sellers and first time buyers, he believes in making the dream of home ownership a reality and not just a wish. Santiago contributes the bulk of his real estate experience during the early 2000s where he represented major banks with asset liquidation, distressed homeowners, and investors on new project developments. His passion for helping those scathed from the housing crises, and wanting to be an integral part for redeveloping communities was a driver for his real estate career.
“I'm a purpose driven individual that has dedicated my life to making a difference in our communities and in people's lives.”
However, this passion for helping others to build upon their dreams and improving their lives, incepted well before earning a real estate license. In 1999 what started out as a job with Homeboy Industries became a career that eventually laid the foundation for community service, activism, and a commitment towards social enterprise.
“For nearly 20 years I had the opportunity to work directly with the founder of Homeboy Industry, “Father G”, F. Gregory Boyle SJ. It is here where I learned the skills of enterprise, patience and perseverance, kinship and advocating for those that wouldn’t have the possibility to vision their dreams. Ask me where I gained the entrepreneurial skills and confidence to speak with C-level executives and celebrities, and I’ll share my path on how it all began with Homeboy.”
Today Santiago uses his success and his voice in real estate as a platform to help fund non-profit organizations that are dedicated to making a difference in people's lives.
“I’ve learned that no matter your social-economic background, culture or history, as a people we all have the same goals in life.”
Santiago could have selected any brokerage to represent his real estate brand, but he chose Engel & Völkers because he recognized us as a partner that not only represents the largest global luxury brand in the world, but shares his vision and core values towards charitable conservatorship and helping clients beyond just a transactional closing.
“I have the team, resources and E&V Divisions to service every lifestyle and professional that requires a concierge experience. Not many Realtors can make that statement”.
On his down time, Santiago enjoys reading books over a tablet.
“I’m in front of the computer a lot, so when I’m reading to relax, I enjoy the cathartic experience of actually holding a book, feeling the pages, reading texts and highlighting lines that resonate with”.
He also believes living a healthy and active lifestyle is essential for the mind and soul. Thanks to the outstanding support of his Herbalife coach, he recently competed on May 2019 in the International Physique League (IPL) Fitness competition and placed 4th. He jokes, that giving a Listing presentation and making home ownership a reality is a breeze, compared to flexing in small swim shorts on stage in-front of thousands of people. Another passion is his love for motorcycles and classic cars. It won’t be unusual for Santiago to pull up to a listing in his custom Harley Davidson Road King. He’s currently working on collaborating these two passions with a YouTube channel called “Houses & Harley’s”, and watch videos of him touring LA in Harley and previewing amazing real estate.
